Carrots, domesticated from the wild speciesa, Daucus carota that grow in the water meadows here at Thyme were originally grown for their seeds and leaves. Careful selection over the years for a less woody tap root has given us this familiar bright and cheerful root vegetable.
Onions, part of the allium family are often grown with carrots and radishes as their distinctive smell wards off pests and insects helping to ensure a healthy and wonderful garden.
